Rosatom has offered innovative solutions for aviation and space

On March 18-20, Rosatom Metal Tech LLC (an integrator company of Rosatom's Fuel Division in the Metallurgy area) presented cable and wire products at the Cabex 2025 exhibition held at Expocentre Fairgrounds. The company's stand demonstrated a wide range of high-strength wires with normal electrical conductivity, including contact wires made of copper-niobium alloy (CuNb) for high-speed railway lines, radiation-resistant and heat-resistant wires, as well as extra-thin wires with and without various coatings.

In terms of a set of technical characteristics, such as ultra-high strength and electrical conductivity, wear resistance and heat resistance, conductor products made of copper-niobium alloy manufactured by Rosatom Metal Tech LLC have competitors neither in the Russian nor in the world market. These wires are used in electronics, microelectronics and robotics, as well as in aviation and space technology for the production of antenna mesh and shielding materials. The company's Moscow production facility manufactures conductors from domestic niobium and copper. It is planned to increase production volumes to five tons per year due to the use of the new equipment.

"In the near future, due to the purchase of new equipment, we plan to increase production volumes to five tons per year. Such demand for products is facilitated by the transition to electric transport, the rapidly expanding market of aviation and space technology. Our wires meet market requirements to the greatest extent. We can say that we are ahead of our time and have created products that are 5-10 years ahead of the market," said Andrey Andrianov, Director General of Rosatom Metal Tech LLC.

Russian companies are successfully implementing development projects and creating innovative solutions. The development of breakthrough technologies increases the competitiveness of both the nuclear industry and the domestic economy as a whole. Rosatom and its enterprises are actively involved in this work.

The Fuel Division of Rosatom State Corporation (the management company is TVEL JSC) includes enterprises for the manufacture of nuclear fuel, conversion and enrichment of uranium, production of gas centrifuges, as well as research and development organizations. As the sole supplier of nuclear fuel for Russian nuclear power plants, TVEL provides fuel to a total of more than 70 power reactors in 15 countries, research reactors in nine countries around the world, as well as transport reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world is powered by TVEL fuel. The fuel division is the world's largest producer of enriched uranium, as well as the leader of the global market for stable isotopes. The division is actively developing new businesses in the field of chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, as well as decommissioning of nuclear facilities. Rosatom's industry integrators for additive technologies and power storage systems have been created in the TVEL circuit. www.tvel.ru
